OMX-SRM Handheld Odour Meter by Shinyei Technology

The OMX-SRM Odour Meter is suitable for detecting odours in lavatories and measuring and sensing the smell of cigarettes, medicines, foods, and odours from the production process.

  • Display odour strength level in numeric values.
  • Select two display modes of High and Low range.
  • Display odour tendency in numeric values.
  • Check the effect of deodourization before and after deodourizing.
  • Detect odour when preparing medicines
  • Measure odour level in lavatories before and after cleaning.
  • Detect various odours in daily life.
  • Monitor odour from the production process in food factories.

Real-time Digital Indication

The numeric odour strength level is displayed continuously.

High-range and Low-range function

High range is from 0 to 999, Low range is from 0.0 to 99.9. Recommend use Low range for measuring low-concentration gas, and a High range for measuring high-concentration gas.

Odour Classification

A pair of semiconductor gas sensors provide odour classification.

How to use the OMX-SRM Shinyei Technology handheld odour meter

Note:

a) The OMX takes an odour sample by using an inner pump and will display the strength level. The odour strength level is calculated by Shinyei's original formula using two types of gas sensors that respond to different types of gases.

b) The OMX detects complex odours and converts them to odour strength levels, which means it will not classify the type of odour.

c) The strength level shown in the OMX doesn't correlate with the human sense of odour.

d) OMX does not detect odor well if the gas concentration is not high enough for the device.
