What is a service inspection?
This is a thorough inspection of the gas detector to check for any issues that may not be noticed during a standard calibration. During the service, we will check the condition of the sensors, their connection to the board, do software updates & check the intrinsic safety of the device before doing a calibration and report.
If we determine we are unable to offer this calibration we will contact you for approval to further investigate and quote on calibration, service, repair, and spare parts or to return the unit.
Terms & Conditions for Calibration & Service
Claiming your calibration or calibration & service for your portable gas detector.
If your online purchase consists of either calibration or calibration & services the Gas Detector Shop will email you a Calibration Document in pdf format that should be completed and returned with our portable gas detector(s) for calibration.
If your online purchase consists of a combination of calibration/calibration & service and products, the Calibration Document will be sent with your order. The document is to be completed and returned with our portable gas detector(s) for calibration.
Calibration Only
If you have pre-purchased a 'calibration only' for your portable gas detector it does not include a service inspection. Therefore we are not liable for any parts that fail after calibration.
Calibration & Service
If you have pre-purchased a 'calibration & service' for your portable gas detector it includes a service inspection.
If one of our technicians deems that replacement parts are required to return your gas detector to working order, ie: sensors, sensor filter, or casing, you will be quoted for such items & labour (if relevant) less the calibration & service already purchased.
Your gas monitor will not be repaired until approval via payment has been received by the Gas Detector Shop.
Warranty
Our calibration and services do not include any parts not covered by manufacturer warranty.
If you return your gas detector to the Gas Detector Shop for a Warranty repair, a copy of the purchase invoice for the gas detector will be required.
All warranties are subject to manufacturer approval.
Return Shipping
The Gas Detector Shop pre-purchased calibration services do not cover return shipping. This must be selected at the time of placing the order.
If you pre-purchase four calibration services, then all four portable gas detectors must be sent in at the same time for their calibration for the return shipping fee to apply.
We do not offer local pick-up unless.
Rejected Inspection Fee
A rejected inspection fee of $66.00 inc GST applies if you do not approve a quote supplied by the Gas Detector Shop for the repair of your gas detector.
The rejected inspection fee will be waived if you purchase a new gas detector from our online store. We will issue you a code that will be valid for 30 days.
