The MSA Safety Altair 5XR is capable of measuring up to 6 gases simultaneously and is now available with an integrated PID sensor for VOC detection and it is driven by an advanced MSA XCell® Sensor Technology. The ALTAIR 5X portable gas detector delivers faster response time, better stability, accuracy, longer service life, and cost savings over the life of the instrument.

This configuration is suited for Melbourne Water Specifications.

• Detects combustible gases in LEL and/or volume percentage range, oxygen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, sulphur dioxide, ammonia, chlorine, VOCs,  and many others depending upon sensor configuration.
• Rugged over-molded polycarbonate housing provides unsurpassed durability, including the ability to survive 10-ft. (3m) drop; IP65-certified.
• The field-proven integral pump provides consistent gas flow, eliminating concerns about externally-attached components.
• High-performance XCell Sensors last longer:
  • Typical life is greater than 4 years for combustible, O2, CO/H2S, SO2, CO/NO2, and CO (high concentration) sensors.
  • Typical life is greater than 3 years for NH3 and Cl2 sensors.
  • Most sensor response and clear times <15 seconds.
• Less calibration gas used:
  • Requires about half of the test gas typically used for calibration and bump tests.
  • Rapid bump test gives results in less than 10 seconds for most common sensor configurations.
  • Span calibration time of 60 seconds for most common sensor configurations.
• MotionAlert feature option tells others that the user has become immobile.
• InstantAlert feature provides a manual alarm to alert others as to a potentially hazardous situation.
• PID option allows for accurate, reliable VOC response with programmable reference factors.

When you see 'Special Order' products that are available for purchase on our website it means they will be sourced on-demand from our suppliers when you place your order.

Products typically have this status when the product is not actively stocked within our warehouse but are available to order.

This may be due to the shelf life or the specialty nature of some of our products (ie: gas detection and specialty gases) or the need to custom manufacture a product to fit/suit the application.

Once we have received your order and payments have been confirmed we will place an order with the Supplier.

Gas Detectors / Specialty gases (ie: short shelf-life products) - may take up to 4 weeks (please note this can vary per supplier availability and manufacturing schedules) to be receipted into our store. You will receive an estimated date of shipping once we have received confirmation from our Supplier.

Custom Manufacturing - for items that require custom manufacturing you will receive an estimated date of shipping once we have received confirmation from our Supplier.

From time to time a supplier may not be able to supply in the time indicated, and items are placed on backorder. If it appears that your order will not be dispatched on time, you will be informed as soon as possible. You will be offered the opportunity to cancel your order at that time, otherwise, your order will be dispatched as soon as the items are available.
